Amongst the hills, Churches & rural beauty of the small village of West Chinnock sits this interesting and quirky pub-an Inn that encourages a sense of humour but takes food, real ales and whisky very seriously. The pub occupies a building that was built around 1650; It was originally intended as weavers’ cottages, then licensed as a cider house in the early 1890’s, and has taken on a number of names & forms since, for this reason the only parking is on the road shared with the Village School so during term time the cars parked outside at lunch time may be for the school & not for the Pub. In the case of large groups, we have access to parking off the road for most of the cars by prior arrangement The beer garden at the front of the pub catches the sun all day long, and with the hanging baskets and flower troughs in bloom throughout the summer is a great place to sit in the Sunshine. When the Weather is at its worst then the large Ham stone hearth at the end of the bar, and its small but friendly bar area, has a warm and welcoming feel all year round. Even if you are a local or not or have come from the other side of the world as many Australian & New Zealander’s have found when looking to trace their ancestors who left at the end of the 19th to emigrate to the new world like many from the local area. you will find a warm & friendly welcome here but please remember to bring your sense of humour with you. As members of the British Institute of Innkeepers we pride ourselves on the quality of the beer. So of course the most important thing you will find here is Cask Marque quality assured SIBA real ales from the south west of England on the three hand pumps, while at Christmas there is always a couple of winter warmers (normally over 7%) straight from the barrel. Most of the breweries used qualify for CAMRA’s Locale status. They are proud to have been in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guid . We also stock a local Farm House Cider as well cider, as well as one or two malt whiskies (over fifty actually) Along with 14 Gins and 12 Rums for you to try. As for the weary traveller there are two twin on-suite bedrooms for Bed & Breakfast with this being a small rural pub there is very little night traffic to keep you awake at night. The Muddled Man Inn is not just a drinking pub, There can also be found traditional pub grub on offer, prepared using locally farmed produce. So if you’re looking for a reasonably priced meal without the pretentious bits (they don’t have slates or wooden boards for plates, nor triple cooked chips in a cup on the side), but they do offer a good selection of Steak & real traditional English pub comfort food. Cooking our own hams and we have the sausages and burgers made by our local butcher K MacAddam of Martock & Bagnell Farm ,as well as Norton Sub Hamdon for some of our Sunday joint and other Beef. BASIC LISTING
Whilst a BASIC listing is free of charge, please note its limitations when considering the effectiveness of your advertising. A PREMIER listing generates significantly more views and enquiries as it provides priority position on searches, comprehensive information on all your pub's features plus your phone number ad website link, making your pub quick to see, attractive to view and easy to contact. In addition, the search ranking of your website is improved because your website is back-linked to ours.

SEARCH FOR A PUB IN 3 EASY WAYS

1) Enter Pub Name (e.g. Red Lion) and click search.

2) Enter an Area and click search.
An 'Area' can be a town (which will return all pubs within the town itself as well as surrounding villages) or a National Park (e.g Dartmoor).

You can also enter both Pub Name and Area and then click search.

3) Pubs Near Me
Click this button to return all pubs closest to your present location.

Once the initial search is made you can apply multiple Filters (e.g. Beer Garden, Dog Friendly, Vegetarian menu, etc) to refine your search results.
