The Dun Cow

A traditional Village Pub & Kitchen in the heart of the village of Hornton, North Oxfordshire. Comfortable, relaxed, welcoming and informal, we offer an excellent range of cask ales as well as ciders, perrys and a carefully chosen wine list, most of which are available by the glass. Been walking or gardening all morning? Just leave your boots by the door and warm your feet by the fire. What about the kids? We think that they should be welcomed, not just tolerated. Just want a quiet drink, not a three course meal? Well, that's fine by us but we ...

George and Dragon

Located a mile or so north of Junction 11 of the M40, off the A316, The George & Dragon stands overlooking the small green of this picturesque village. The inn itself is one of the prettiest buildings in Chacombe with its mellow stone walls and latticed windows. When it was built in the 1600s a drover's road passed through the village and cattle and sheep would graze in the surrounding fields before being taken to Banbury Market the next day. Meanwhile, the drovers would repair to the inn for refreshment and lodging. At that time, the inn brewed its own beer. ...

Sun Inn

This beautiful English Inn, built from Cotswold stone with original flagstone floors, oak beams and inglenook fireplace, prides itself on its warm and friendly atmosphere. Hook Norton is a picturesque village and of course is the home of the Hooky Brewery, so why not visit the Brewery shop and museum. The village is ideally situated for a wide variety of activities and pastimes: walking around Cotswold villages with their abundance of antique shops and tea-rooms; visiting stately homes, castles and palaces; local golf and ...

George Hotel

Customers should be prepared to be pampered is the promise offered by Marilyn Hewitt, the licensee of the George, Brailes in North Oxfordshire. The George is a sympathetically refurbished Grade II listed coaching inn with elements from 16th to 18th centuries. And Marilyn has ambitious plans to make this 16th century grade II listed pub a centre for village life, a place for fine dining and a comfortable hotel ideal for tourists and business travellers. Bands will play on at the pub, which has an unrivalled reputation for live acts, but Marilyn wants the George to be much more ...

The Bell Inn

The Bell Inn Great Bourton in was originally thatched and attached to a cottage which stuck out into the road. It was rebuilt in the 1920s after a fire. Hidden away in the ridge of the roof on both the northern and southern sides of the pub are Hook Norton beer bottles built into the brick work. The village of Great Bourton has much to offer the visitor - including - a bell tower detached from the church. It is said that there are only two other places in England where the church bell tower is sited away from ...

The Bell Inn

The Adderbury Day of Dance at the end of April is when Adderbury's two morris sides, along with other invited visiting teams, dance themselves ragged during the day and unwind by paying music all night. A fantastic day not to be missed! We are also home to a number of pub teams who compete in local dart, quiz and aunt sally leagues and who welcome new players or friendly matches. We can also provide facilities for office or works socials (inter department or inter site matches), with or without food/buffet/barbecue for these and other pub games.
